Ben Weitz, head-coordinator for iTrek Penn University Law program to Israel

"I led two groups of American law students on a trip to Israel. On both occasions we had the pleasure of meeting Nimrod and listening to him speak about the LBGTQ community in Israel, with an emphasis on the intersection of the LBGTQ community and the legal system. Nimrod gives a truly fascinating presentation. Nimrod is very knowledgeable about laws and regulations affecting the LBGTQ community in Israel, and also does a great job of connecting with his audience, and making comparisons to the situation in America. He speaks very well about history, the present day situation, and thoughts on what the future might look like.

Nimrod is a very talented speaker and is engaging, funny, and passionate. On both occasions participants raved about his talk, and in post trip survey’s Nimrod was one of the highlights of the trip. I would strongly recommend that anyone who has an interest in the LBGTQ community in Israel or the Israeli legal system plan a meeting with Nimrod. I guarantee it will be one of the highlights of your trip as well".

"Nimrod served as a lecturer for my group of Canadians who were visiting Israel for the first time. Although his official role was to discuss the legal status of the LGBTQ+ community in Israel, he provided much more than expected. With his wealth of knowledge and expertise, he was able to coherently explain the complex notions within Israeli society. From religion, politics, a breakdown of the Israeli legal system and the legal status of the LGBTQ+ community. He engaged the participants through well-articulated explanations even comparing to Canadian society and laws.

The lecture took place in the first 2 days of the trip, and provided the students with a deeper understanding of many complex issues in Israeli society today successfully and elegantly. The group praised Nimrod for his balanced views and clarity . We wish to congratulate him for his ability to clearly explain very complex notions and to compare and contrast the legal system in Israel to other countries.
I would provide a glowing recommendation to Nimrod for groups who want to get proffesional knowledge about Israeli society and the legal system. Nimrod can provide an excellent initial lecture to provide historical and societal context to the greater issues at hand or as an in-depth lecture for groups that have the educational background".

"Nimrod travelled from Tel-Aviv to meet me, a stranger, in Jerusalem. We had a wonderful, long dinner. We spoke for hours about a very wide range of topis: many legal issues, haredi/secular issues, LGBT issues, life in the military and the impact of the IDF on Israeli society, left wing political concerns, the wars of 1948 and 1967, and the Israeli technology induesty. He is very easy to talk to. His knowledge is vast. He is good at explaining multiple view on complex topics. I VERY HIGHLY recommend Nimrod to anyone who wants to learn and enjoy themselves".

"Nimrod did a wonderful job of engaging with our group of American law and policy students about the issues that mattered to them. He managed to convey information in a tone that was conversational and engaging- no small feat early in the morning of a trip's final day! I would have him speak to any group of mine curious about LGBT issues in Israel, the intersection of Israeli law and policy, or Israel from the perspective of a young activist".

"Regarding Nimrod’s lecture, we only got positive feedbacks! Many students have approached us after the lecture saying they found it to be highly enjoyable. The emphasis on the absence of state and religion separation in Israel was clear and easy to grasp for many students, most of whom are Americans, where this issue is taken as granted. In addition, the explanation on the LGBT community in Israel through the above mentioned lack of distinction between state and religion was fascinating. Nimrod had managed to explain a complex topic in a little more than an hour in a simple and comprehensive manner. He had answered all students’ questions brightly and directly, and everyone felt comfortable asking him further questions at the end of the lecture. We will be happy to hear him again next year when we will come back once again with another group".

"Nimrod's lecture was part of a one week educational leave of the German trade union to Israel. I was lucky to guide this group and to get in touch with Nimrod. His lecture on Israel law clarified a lot about how the Israel state functions. The structure of his talk and the way Nimrod was able to make very complex topics clear and understandable for everybody is impressive and unique. He included the participants directly and made sure all questions were answered. Nimrod is just very competent and an expert in his field. He is able to build bridges between the law of Israel and the law of the U.S or even Germany and makes comparisons. This makes the lecture comprehensible and vivid.

From the participants there was very positive feedback and they mentioned it as on of their highlights of the week!

I can only recommend Nimrod warmly to everybody who is interested in getting an insight into how Israel really works. I myself visited Israel several times but Nimrods lecture changed my perception and widened my understanding one more time".

"As a queer American Jew, I really enjoyed having the chance to learn about the LGBTQIA+ community in Israel. I appreciated that Nimrod covered both political and social attitudes toward queer people in Israel, and that he added context for the politics since he knew he had an American audience that wasn’t super familiar with how the Israeli political system works. I felt like I gained a better understanding of Israeli politics, got a better sense of how Israelis feel about the LGBTQIA+ community, and learned more about how religion factors into both. I also learned a lot about the differences in how Israel treats queerness in terms of romantic/sexual orientations versus queerness in terms of nonbinary genders.

I really liked the opportunities we had to ask questions during the discussion, since that let my peers and I steer the conversation toward the specific things we were curious about. I was also able to ask a question about the Israeli asexual community after the talk as well, and I especially appreciate Nimrod for giving a thoughtful answer to what I don’t think was an easy or common question".

"I found the speech fascinating simply because I didn’t know a whole lot about the LGBT+ community in Israel. I thought it was cool how he had several different talking points about different communities within LGBT and how he described the politics of everything too. I also appreciate how although he did give some of his opinions, his speech was very unbiased".
